The successful candidate will oversee large-scale mechanical construction projects, lead high-performing teams, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct the execution of large, complex mechanical construction projects or multiple projects simultaneously.
- Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting, financial reporting, and profitability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients while identifying opportunities for additional business.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, project teams, and key stakeholders.
- Create and implement project execution plans to achieve successful outcomes.
- Lead meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and evaluate project managers and project staff.
- Promote a collaborative, safety-focused, and high-performing team environment.
- Provide technical guidance related to mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- 11+ years of project management experience in mechanical construction or MEP contracting.
- 4+ years of leadership experience managing project teams.
- Strong background in self-performing mechanical construction projects.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Proven success delivering complex construction projects valued at $20M or more.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and change order administration.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain executive-level client relationships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP platforms, and construction management software.
- Experience with mission-critical facilities, healthcare, data centers, or design-build projects is an asset.
