Role Description
CQC Law Firm is seeking a motivated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join our New Jersey practice and work closely with our attorneys on a broad range of complex commercial and business disputes. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is interested in developing a practice focused on commercial litigation, business disputes, contract disputes, and real estate-related litigation. The attorney will assist with matters throughout the litigation process, including case evaluation, legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, discovery, negotiations, settlement discussions, and preparation for court proceedings. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, detail-oriented, strategic thinker, and eager to take on increasing responsibility while working closely with experienced attorneys and clients.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar and membership in good standing.
- Experience in commercial litigation, business litigation, civil litigation, or a related practice area.
- Experience with contract disputes, real estate litigation, business disputes, or other complex commercial matters is a plus.
- Strong interest in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, with excellent legal research, analytical, and written advocacy skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Ability to work directly with clients and collaborate effectively with attorneys, opposing counsel, experts, consultants, and other professionals involved in complex commercial disputes.
- A proactive, motivated, and client-focused approach to legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in representing businesses, property owners, investors, and individuals in a broad range of commercial and business disputes.
- Research and analyze contracts, statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal authorities relevant to commercial litigation matters.
- Assist with all stages of commercial litigation, including case evaluation, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, discovery requests and responses, settlement documents, correspondence, and other legal documents, with a strong emphasis on clear and well-organized legal writing.
- Assist attorneys with preparing for court appearances, hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Review and analyze documents, evidence, and discovery materials to identify key legal and factual issues and support case strategy.
- Communicate directly with clients and help guide them through the litigation and dispute-resolution process, providing clear and timely updates regarding their matters.
- Provide strategic support on commercial disputes, contractual issues, business matters, and other litigation-related questions.
- Manage assigned matters, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining clear, consistent, and professional communication with clients, attorneys, and other parties involved in the litigation process.
