Currently hiring an experienced, self-motivated, and reliable Local Livestock Truck Driver (1099 contract position) to transport live chickens between farms and processing facilities within the North LA area.
Job Details:
- Transport live poultry and cooling fans safely, humanely, and efficiently
- Operate within a local 65 mile radius (NO long hauls/ OTR routes)
*average 2-4 loads/day ; 5 work days/wk
- Maintain a clean & organized vehicle & adhere to all safety regulations
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly
- Document and report any delays or issues before, during, or after transport
Requirements:
- Valid CDL Class A with 5+ years validated experience in chicken hauling or related field
- Must be able to pass DOT physical, pre-employment drug test, and consent to random testing
- Most possess clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and clearinghouse record.
- Ability to lift, bend, and handle physical tasks related to operating and driving the truck
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
Compensation:
- 1099 Independent Contractor Position w/ competitive weekly pay
- $70/load
- $15/hr detention pay (time waiting at plant or during plant downtime)
- Quarterly safety bonus for maintaining high safety standards
