Girls Basketball Coach / Skill Development Trainer (Part-Time)

Coaching with Chicago’s Northside Basketball Academy is a rewarding opportunity to positively impact young athletes both on and off the court. We are seeking dependable, motivated, and experienced female basketball coaches for our 2026 Youth Basketball Skills Training and Girls Travel Team Programs.
These are part-time, seasonal positions with weekend and select weeknight commitments. The season starts in the 2026 Summer and runs through June 2027.
This role is ideal for:
- Former collegiate players interested in pursuing high school coaching
- Experienced teachers or coaches seeking an action-packed, rewarding part-time position
- Coaches who are passionate about player development and mentorship
All coaching positions are paid and provide opportunities to work alongside a strong, established coaching staff.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills
- Work with athletes in Grades K–8
- Teach basketball fundamentals and age-appropriate life skills
- Lead practices and coach games for girls’ travel teams (8–10 players per team)
- Create a positive, encouraging, and development-focused environment
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program leadership
- Serve as a positive role model on and off the court
Qualifications & Skills
- High enthusiasm for coaching and youth development
- Strong desire to motivate young players and help them improve their game
- Solid technical knowledge of basketball fundamentals and team concepts
- Ability to lead, motivate, and connect with young athletes
Experience Requirements
- College playing experience preferred
- Prior coaching experience and availability will strongly influence team and program assignments
Compensation & Job Details
- Job Type: Part-time, seasonal
- Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience
