Job Description
SUMMARY
SPIRITT Family Services is recruiting a Temp Wraparound Child and Family Specialist. The Child and Family Specialist provides one-on-one support and behavioral interventions to child and family to resolve issues identified in the Plan of Care. Assist client with learning and practicing communication skills, anger management, problem solving, stress management, and additional pro-social behaviors; becoming involved in academic, social, recreational, and/or employment activities; and learning to cooperate and engage both peers and adults across all settings. Create fun and reinforcing environments to teach skills and model behavior, provide transportation, and give updates to the Child and Family Team regarding the clients’ progress. The Child and Family Specialist is responsible for a caseload of ten to twelve slots. Upholds regulations established by the Department of Mental Health and Department of Children and Family Services in Los Angeles County. Additionally, the Child and Family Specialist completes all required documentation and paperwork in accordance with agency and county standards.
Responsibilities:

It is essential that the CFS maintain accuracy and consistency in timekeeping, weekly case notes, external reports/letters, client files and all other required documentation.

Submit progress notes within 24 hours of service delivery per agency policy.

Attend staff clinical supervision to establish and coordinate consumer and/or family treatment goals.

Maintain specified level of productivity (caseload) and quality of services.

Wraparound experience preferred.

Flexible work hours including after hours and weekends in response to client needs.
Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or Psychology
-
Two years of experience providing social services in low-income and culturally diverse communities.

Complete 40 hours of Wraparound Training, within 30 days of hiring date.

Trained in evidence-based practices including Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other related topics such as ASAM or must complete required trainings within 6 months of hire.

May require weekend hours based on funding contract.

Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Maintain First Aid/CPR Certification.

Complete a fingerprint check for criminal history and obtain clearance from a law enforcement agency to work in a human services agency.

Current and valid driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance.

Clean Tuberculosis test.
Skill Requirements:

Possess adequate coursework and knowledge of legal and ethical issues regarding child and family counseling and other emotional, social and behavioral health concerns

Ability to provide integrated services for children, adults and families
-
Ability to provide services to various ethnic/cultural groups in the community

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families.

Organized and able to meet documentation deadlines as required by funding contracts.

Able to manage change and work in a fast paced environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills including self-awareness, conflict resolution, open to feedback and supervision, and able to take personal responsibility for job performance.

Able to promote a positive work environment and maintain professional boundaries.

Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Record Systems.
