Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance.
- Perform laboratory work such as blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests using veterinary software and radiology diagnostics tools.
- Handle animal restraint safely and effectively across a variety of species, including dogs, cats, and equines, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary protocols.
- Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, phlebotomy devices, and anesthesia monitoring systems with precision.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Support pet owners through clear communication about pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs.
Requirements
- Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong background in animal husbandry and emergency medicine.
- Kennel experience along with dog handling skills for effective animal management.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and surgical procedures.
- Hands-on experience with anesthesia administration, IV insertion, vascular access, and animal catheterization.
- Familiarity with veterinary laboratory work, diagnostic radiology, and critical & intensive care practices.
- Ability to operate veterinary medical equipment confidently and perform pet grooming or training as needed.
- Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners about pet care and treatment options.
