Job Title: Residential Program Assistant (Evening Shift, 3pm - 11pm with weekend availability)
Immediate Supervisor: Residential Supervisor
Brantwood Family Services operates a comprehensive, long-term residential program for pregnant and parenting women with substance use disorders.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED;
Persons with lived experience (Peers) must have at least 12 months in recovery;
Core Competencies
Ability to learn, retain, and follow policies & procedures;
Ability to respond appropriately to emergency/crisis situations;
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
Ability to utilize laptop & desktop computers, send emails, and document in electronic health records;
Ability to maintain professionalism when responding to residents & difficult situations;
Ability to perform job duties in an ethical and professional manner, to include protecting resident confidentiality;
Ability to lift & carry up to 30 lbs, push & pull carts and cleaning equipment, crouch & kneel, frequent walking, standing and climbing stairs;
Ability to contribute to a positive work environment;
Ability to receive feedback to support professional growth/development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure a therapeutic environment where residents feel welcomed, safe & supported;
Respond appropriately to emergency/crisis situations such as medical emergency, mental health crisis, substance use;
Conduct rounds to account for all residents and document their attendance at treatment activities;
Conduct routine checks of the facility and resident rooms/belongings, reporting prohibited items, safety hazards or maintenance concerns to supervisor;
Monitor residents as they self-administer their prescribed medications;
Deliver essential services to residential clients to include serving meals;
Maintain the environment of care by providing light janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, wiping services, taking out trash, and restocking supplies;
Support residents by listening with empathy, offering encouragement, facilitating conflict resolution, and healthy problem-solving;
Monitor residents while they provide urine drug screen sample;
Complete required documentation to include shift notes and incident reports, as needed.
Brantwood Family Services operates a 24/7 residential healthcare facility. Residential Program Assistants are Essential Staff and will be required to work holidays and report to work even in the event of inclement weather.
