Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, offering product demonstrations when appropriate to enhance their experience
- Operate the cash register efficiently, handling retail sales transactions accurately while maintaining a balanced cash drawer
- Process payments using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments, ensuring secure cash handling practices
- Upsell related products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities and meet store targets
- Stock shelves and merchandise displays to ensure products are well-organized, accessible, and visually appealing
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing assistance remotely
- Support store operations by managing inventory levels through stocking and merchandising efforts while adhering to store standards
Requirements
- Prior experience with POS systems and cashiering operations in a retail environment is preferred
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail setting is a plus
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with customers and team members in bilingual settings if applicable
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising techniques to assist customers confidently
- Experience conducting product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating positive shopping experiences and practicing good phone etiquette
- Ability to handle cash register operations efficiently while maintaining accuracy and security during retail sales transactions
