Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator specializing as a Coil Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining coil processing machinery, ensuring precise fabrication of metal sheets and coils in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with various machining tools, and a commitment to quality control. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor coil processing machines including CNC laser cutters, stamping presses, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and plasma cutting equipment.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify product dimensions and quality.
- Maintain proper tooling setup and machine calibration to optimize performance and product consistency.
- Conduct routine inspections of coils and sheet metal for defects or deviations from specifications; document findings for quality control.
- Follow safety standards in production environments, including proper handling of sheet metal, use of hand tools, cranes, and other equipment.
- Collaborate with team members on machine operation, tooling adjustments, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Support fabrication processes such as welding, forming, and assembly as needed within the production line.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, machine maintenance logs, and quality inspection reports.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating manufacturing machinery such as CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brakes, plasma cutters, and welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments for quality assurance.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to machine operation and metal fabrication environments.
- Ability to perform shop math calculations accurately for measurement conversions and dimension verification.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming principles is preferred but not mandatory.
- Mechanical knowledge related to forming machines, tooling setup, sheet metal fabrication techniques, and electrical discharge machining is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on precision measurement in machining processes.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and adherence to safety protocols.
