The Communications and Events Coordinator is responsible for the success of the organizations communications, events and business development initiatives of the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce (EPC). You will develop and drive opportunities to promote EPC to current and prospective members, as well as to the community, through organizational communications and social media marketing efforts. This includes establishing the marketing and branding of the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce as the leading business organization in the region. In addition, you will manage ongoing programs and events for the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time:
· Develop the Eden Prairie Chamber communications strategy in conjunction with the Chamber President and Relationship and Events Director. Ensure deliverables are met.
· Drive member engagement and connection opportunities through the EPC social and communication platforms.
· Curate Chamber, program, and member information to be promoted across Chamber platforms. Lead efforts to utilize video communications as applicable.
· Assist in the creation and distribution of press releases, promotional materials, and other organizational communications and marketing efforts.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with event sponsors, key stakeholders and members of the chamber.
·Design and create marketing materials and promotional flyers utilizing programs like Canva.
Update member records in chamber database system and add to/create user manual.
· Support and manage chamber programs including – Business@Breakfast, Membership Mixers, Coffee Breaks, Public Policy luncheons and additional programs as assigned. Assist in execution, sponsorship, and oversight of the programs and achieving goals of each. Solicits registrants, sponsors and/or raffle items as needed.
· Manage Emerging Leaders committee and coordinate monthly events. Manage the Twin Cities Young Professionals Summit conference each year with volunteer support.
· Work with Chamber President to set major investor meetings and roundtable discussions.
· Manage member and non-member requests including member information and database updates, certificate of origin stamps and other resource requests.
· Ability to lift 40 lbs. - Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
4 Year Degree in related field with experience in communications and events is preferred.
· Experience using social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google)
· Experience utilizing design software to create marketing and communication materials (Canva and others), Constant Contact, Outlook and CRM database system.
· Creating newsletters and e-mail/website content.
· Self-motived, self-confident, results-oriented individual with the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Must show demonstrated success in communications and business development along with excellent negotiation skills, strong sense of urgency, and excellent verbal, written and customer service skills.
· A professional, mature, and positive attitude with ability to work independently and in a team setting.
· Must be able to remain calm under pressure, plus have excellent interpersonal, leadership, and creative problem-solving abilities. Must possess a clear and demonstrated commitment to the Chamber’s mission, which is Leaders for community prosperity; Advocates for business.
· Attend meetings and events as required, including some late afternoon/evenings and the rare weekend. Must have reliable transportation.
This is a full-time position; salary is commensurate with experience/qualifications $41,000 - $47,000. Benefits include a generous PTO policy, nine paid holidays, close to Eden Prairie Center and walking trails, a 401K plan with a 3% company match, and professional development opportunities.
