American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU travel contract in San Antonio, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active TX RN license.

Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a large hospital in San Antonio, TX
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Rotating weekends required

13-week contract

No on-call requirements

Floating is required per facility policy; travelers should be aware of and prepared to follow the Methodist Floating Policy

Patient population includes post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-cath cases with various cardiac support devices (IABP, Impella, ECMO)
-
Procedures and monitoring include hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines) and ventilator management
-
Preferred exposure to IABP and CRRT
-
EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)

Active TX RN license required; compact license accepted if TX-eligible — no temporary licenses accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines

Ventilator management experience required

Strong critical thinking skills required

Trained on CVICU devices to support cardiovascular cases

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted

One professional reference required
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted

Scrub color: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
-
Nails must be clean and healthy; hair should be neat with no extreme styles or colors
-
Visible body art should be covered whenever possible
-
Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
-
Clocking in and out is required for each shift, along with a full 30-minute lunch break; tardiness is defined as clocking in after 6:45 AM/PM (on-time clock-in is 6:38 AM/PM)

First-time travelers are not mentioned as being considered — candidates should have a solid travel or relevant clinical background given the 2+ year experience requirement
