Responsibilities:
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients with a knife.
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to execute catering orders and restaurant menu items.
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistent quality of food preparation.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down the kitchen stations before and after service.
- Help with dishwashing and cleaning duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic food handling and safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects.
Skills:
- Knife skills: Proficient in using knives for food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
- Catering experience: Familiarity with catering operations and the ability to assist in executing catering orders.
- Food industry knowledge: Understanding of food industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Kitchen experience: Previous experience working in a kitchen setting, following recipes, and assisting with meal preparation.
- Culinary skills: Basic culinary knowledge and techniques for preparing meals.
- Food handling: Knowledge of proper food handling procedures to maintain food safety standards.
- Meal preparation: Ability to assist in preparing meals according to established recipes and portion guidelines.
- Food safety: Understanding of food safety protocols to ensure safe handling, storage, and preparation of ingredients.
