Job Summary
The Part-Time Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, functionality, and safety of the hotel. This position performs preventative maintenance, responds to guest and staff maintenance requests, and ensures hotel facilities are operating efficiently while providing exceptional guest service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete daily preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and work orders.
- Perform basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, and HVAC troubleshooting.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and exterior grounds for maintenance needs.
- Replace light bulbs, batteries, filters, and other routine maintenance items.
- Maintain the pool and spa (if applicable) according to company and health department standards.
- Assist with landscaping, snow removal, trash removal, and parking lot upkeep as needed.
- Ensure all safety equipment and fire prevention systems are functioning properly.
- Maintain maintenance logs and report major repairs to management.
- Assist with room inspections to ensure rooms are guest-ready.
- Follow all hotel safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Be available for occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency maintenance calls.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel or general maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and carpentry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable using maintenance tools and equipment safely.
Schedule
- Part-Time (approximately 20–30 hours per week)
- Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
