Duties
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support meal preparation by assembling ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to safety standards in production and food safety management protocols
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sanitizing work surfaces, floors, and storage areas regularly
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, mixers, and other small appliances
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep and service activities efficiently
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques is highly desirable
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and food safety regulations within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members
- Basic understanding of food handling practices, including proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Experience with catering or serving environments is a plus but not mandatory
