Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician / Caregiver to provide high-quality care to residents in assisted living settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patient care, medical documentation, and medication administration, with experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring memory or hospice care. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, administering medications, and ensuring their safety and comfort while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene
- Monitor and record vital signs, health status, and responses to treatments using EMR/EHR systems
- Support residents with specialized needs including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care
- Document all patient interactions and medical information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control procedures and safety protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans and report any changes in condition
- Assist with medical procedures such as tube feeding, catheter care, and other nursing tasks as trained
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents to promote well-being and quality of life
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal healthcare regulations regarding medication administration and patient privacy
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or home care settings preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care practices
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia is highly desirable
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner is a plus
- Previous caregiving experience in hospice or memory care environments is advantageous
- Certification as a Medication Technician or similar credential is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work compassionately with diverse populations are essential

Pay: $14.00 - $16.50 per hour
