Support Corporate Planning, Member Service, and Operational Excellence
Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking two Business Analytics & Operations Interns to support the Corporate Planning & Member Support organization. These opportunities provide hands-on exposure to the planning, analytics, reporting, member support, energy data, and business processes that help GSOC serve Georgia electric cooperatives and support reliable electric system operations.
As a Business Analytics & Operations Intern, you will work alongside professionals across Corporate Planning, Member Support, Data Systems, Energy Accounting & Settlement, and related operational functions. You will contribute to meaningful projects, recurring business activities, research, reporting, process documentation, and improvement initiatives while gaining a broader understanding of the electric utility industry.
This opportunity is ideal for a curious and analytical student who enjoys working with data, solving problems, improving processes, and turning information into clear, useful business insights.
What You'll Do
As a Business Analytics & Operations Intern, you will support cross-functional projects and recurring activities that strengthen business operations, member responsiveness, reporting, and process continuity.
You will:

Collect, organize, analyze, and summarize business, operational, member, and energy-related data.

Assist with recurring reports, performance tracking, spreadsheet tools, task management, meeting follow-up, and project coordination.

Support member-focused initiatives and research that help the organization better understand and respond to electric cooperative needs.

Gain exposure to energy accounting, energy contracts, settlement-related activities, operational workflows, and supporting data.

Conduct research on business or energy topics and prepare concise findings for team or leadership review.

Document processes, map workflows, support knowledge transfer, andidentify opportunities to improve efficiency or consistency.

Contribute to modernization efforts involving Excel, Microsoft Power Platform tools, reporting solutions, or other applicable technologies.

Prepare professional reports, presentations, process documentation, and other work products that communicate findings and recommendations.

Present a summary of your projects, accomplishments, outcomes, and key learnings at the conclusion of the assignment.
What You Bring

Current enrollment in a degree program in Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, ora related field.

Interest in business operations, analytics, energy, technology, process improvement, member service, or the electric utility industry.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working with spreadsheets, recurring data, basic analysis, and reporting.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to organize information,identify patterns, and summarize findings.

Attention to detail and a commitment to producingaccurate, complete, and well-organized work.

Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare documentation and interact professionally with stakeholders.

Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to track assignments, meet deadlines, and communicate progress or barriers.

A collaborative, dependable, and learning-oriented approach to new assignments and unfamiliar business topics.
Preferred Qualifications
Analytics, Reporting & Business Operations

Coursework, academic projects, or prior experience involving data analysis, reporting, business research, process improvement, information systems, or operational support.

Experience using Excel to organize data, perform calculations,identify trends, or create reports and summaries.

Interest in strategic planning, member programs, energy data, settlement processes, or operational performance.
Technology & Process Improvement

Exposure toMicrosoft Power Apps, Power BI, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Java, automation tools, or other software platforms.

Experience documenting processes, mapping workflows, developing presentations, or coordinating project activities.

Interest in using technology and data to improve business processes, reporting, and decision-making.
