Job Purpose
Oversee and direct activities of the purchasing department and associated employees. Will also oversee all warehouse activities. Expected performance will have significant financial impact on the organization.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
· Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs/requirements for equipment, material, products and acceptable substitutions
· Will be in charge of supervision of others
· Assess current material availability for the organization, stay current on item delivery as well as other variables
· Prepare and present market conditions and merchandise cost reports
· Prepare and process material requisitions and purchase orders
· Maintain, revise, and draft new instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management
· Evaluate and approve the issuing and awarding of bids
· Resolve issues and grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
· Maintain the purchasing recordkeeping systems
· The company representative in supplier negotiation
· Identifies, reports and manages the removal of surplus materials
· Administers the purchasing budget
· Oversees daily departmental workflow, schedules, performance evaluations and employee relations
Qualifications/Skills/Specifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
· Experience: Three to five years of purchasing. Multiple years of supervisory experience, leadership, delegation, and prioritization experience
· Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
· Certifications & Licenses: Member of Purchasing Association
· Languages: French/Spanish would be a plus.
· Other Requirements: Organizational and project management skills, time management skills, attention to deadlines, requires no follow-up, analytical and problem-solving skills, understanding of business principles.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
· Lifting of up to 50 pounds, substantial walking among multiple plants, standing.
· Requires access to all areas of operation
· Travel

Plant wide relationships from production employees to Executive Team. Also expected relationships with vendors, community leaders, educational leaders, etc.
