Brake Press Operator – 3rd Shift
Pay: starting at $24.50/hr + 20% shift premium + 5K sign on bonus
Shift: 3rd Shift 6:30pm - 4:30am Monday-Thursday
Position Type: Direct Hire
We’re looking for an experienced Brake Press Operator who can handle more than basic production runs. This position is best suited for someone comfortable setting up their own jobs, working from blueprints, selecting tooling, and making the adjustments needed to produce accurate parts.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Set up and operate CNC brake press equipment for a variety of fabricated parts
- Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings
- Calculate bend allowances based on material type and thickness
- Select the correct punches, dies, and tooling for each job
- Set up and run both production work and prototype/new-part jobs
- Make machine adjustments and use advanced brake press programming functions
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools
- Record inspection results and complete setup documentation
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and production-ready
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of related brake press/fabrication experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong experience setting up and operating CNC brake presses independently
- Ability to read blueprints and understand bend requirements
- Experience selecting and changing punch and die tooling
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment to verify finished parts
- Comfortable with shop math including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages
- High school diploma/GED or relevant technical training
