Job Summary
Local small business of 40 years seeks a fulltime bookkeeper who is wanting a long-term position to replace our bookkeeper of 13 years who is retiring. Must have a minimum three years of experience.
Job Summary includes but not limited to:
Handle vendor accounts, make bank deposits, maintain ledgers, pay bills, prepare financial statements and reports, reconcile bank accounts, reconcile daily transactions, prepare payroll, maintain financial files, monthly and quarterly tax filings, some HR duties, to include maintaining employee files, as well as Labor and Industries Issues. Answer office phone, handle mail, other related duties as assigned
Required Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge of Quickbooks, Ability to file B&O / excise tax returns and create applicable journal entries. Ability to calculate & file Quarterly L&I taxes, and Federal payroll taxes. Solid background filing quarterlies (state and federal, payroll and Washington Dept. of Revenue). Experienced in processing payroll (via QuickBooks) Ability to create AR invoices in QuickBooks & understand destination sales tax. Must have done full cycle AP for a company with a large volume of AP invoices. Must be able to reconcile bank / credit card accounts in QuickBooks. Understand what a fixed asset is and when it is most appropriate to expense vs. capitalize assets. Must have a good understanding of a Balance Sheet and Income Statement. Able to generate P/L & B/S and other required financial reports. Annual preparation for Federal Income Tax Filing.

Rate of pay: 18.00 – 24.00 DOE
Ideal Candidate would have the following experience:
- Knows QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word and Windows operating systems
- Ability to file sales tax returns for multiple locations in WA
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently to resolve problems
- Analytical and strategic thinker
- Construction Background & knowledge of prevailing wages
- 3 years of professional experience in Bookkeeping'
