Phoenix Fiber is looking for hardworking individuals who want to build a long-term career in the utility construction industry. No prior experience is required—we'll teach you the trade.
As a Civil Laborer, you'll work alongside experienced crews installing underground Telecom and Electrical infrastructure. You'll learn how to build conduit systems, operate construction equipment, and develop the skills needed to become a CDL driver, heavy equipment operator, crew leader, or foreman.
Daily responsibilities may include:

Sweep/shovel roadways and monitor work areas to maintain a clean, safe jobsite.

Hand dig using shovels and be the eyes on the trench during excavation.

Install, cut, and assemble PVC conduit systems.

Mix mortar and assist with masonry work, including loading and handling bricks.

Compact backfill using hand-operated compaction equipment.

Assist with asphalt restoration by handling hot mix and completing roadway patches.

Operate and safely use hand tools and power tools, including demo saws, jackhammers, chipping guns, tampers, and compactors.

Load, unload, and stage materials, tools, and equipment for the crew.

Support CDL drivers and heavy equipment operators while learning underground utility construction methods.

Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a productive, team-oriented work environment.

Take on increasing responsibility as skills develop, with opportunities to advance into commercial driving, equipment operation, and field leadership.
