The Aquatics Event Liaison is a part-time position within the Village of Pleasant Prairie RecPlex Aquatics Division of the Recreation Department. Under the supervision of the Senior Coordinator- Aquatics Operations, this position is responsible for on-site assistance during Aquatics hosted and rental events in the 50-meter Aqua Arena and Lake Andrea. This position requires regular weekend and evening availability based on event needs.
Job Duties

Attends training with the Aquatics management team to understand the systems involved in running swim meets.

Works with the Aquatics Operations Coordinator and Head Swim Coach to ensure smooth execution of meets.

Remains accessible and available to the host team throughout the duration of meet hours.

Set up and take down meet equipment each day according to processes provided by Aquatics Management.

Maintains a positive working relationship and communicates with other teams and/or LSC regarding meet operations.

Assist with maintaining equipment such as touchpads and buttons, making repairs as needed.

Report any equipment maintenance or replacement needs to the Aquatics Operations Coordinator.

Must be able to respond to issues quickly and make problem solving decisions in high stress environments.

Participates in an equal share of the joint house-keeping responsibilities for swim meet operations as assigned.

Assist Aquatics Management as needed with setup for indoor and outdoor events as necessary, including swim meets, triathlons, and open water swim meets.

Responds in a friendly and professional manner when dealing with participants, parents or patron inquiries, or complaints.

Leads by example and enforces all Village & Department policies and procedures, and Village codes and ordinances.

Performs other duties and special assignments as directed within the scope of the RecPlex and/or Aquatics Department.
Physical

Requires frequent public interaction and the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Work is conducted primarily in an indoor fitness/recreation environment with regular exposure to high and low temperatures and humidity, slippery surfaces, and pool chemicals.

Requires frequently sitting, walking, standing, typing and movement about the RecPlex building, pool deck, and office spaces.

Occasionally requires the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl and lift 10-60 pounds.
Educational, Certifications and Experience

Familiarity with USA Swimming OME, Colorado Timing System, HY-TEK, and DisplayLink Softwares is preferred

USA Swimming Non-Athlete Certification within 90 days of start date.

Experience with competitive swimming is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
