Bar Manager
Overview
We are looking for a Bar Manager who is energetic, driven, well organized and extremely detail oriented. This position is full time. We’re looking for a highly skilled manager who can play a central role in opening a venue/bar, including but not limited to: implementing daily tasks, controlling costs, ordering and inventory, drink development and menu transitions, and identifying and executing brand building opportunities amongst others. The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate and negotiate with vendors, collaborate and manage communications with team and ownership.. Above all, the manager must be comfortable in a leadership role that demands a business-driven mindset and lasting relationships with our vendors and staff.
General Manager
- Creative Individual to serve as one of the faces of Station 1846.
- Oversee Day to Day Operations
- Design Strategy + Set Goals for Growth
- Assist in Design/creation of menu
- Serve as lead bartender / MOD whenever the schedule requires it
- Work in Tandem with the Events and Catering Team to execute events
- Maintain Budgets & Optimize Expenses
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or bar setting is a must
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with food handling procedures is beneficial
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage the bar area during busy shifts
- Proficiency in using TOAST POS systems for order processing and payment handling
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Experience in catering or kitchen management is an advantage
- Set and enforce policies and processes
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
- Write and efficiently manage the schedule for employees to control labor costs and ensure a consistent guest experience
- Weekly ordering and inventory tracking. Ordering and inventory process, reducing sunk costs and storage needs- Xchefsystem experience a plus
- Coordinate seasonal menu development
- Coordinate menu change overs, including print and digital menus, photography/videography, training, sourcing, costing, and promotion
- Work in tandem with liquor reps to ensure best available pricing and promotions
- Represent Station at local, regional, and national F&B events that will yield beneficial relationships
- Maintain active relationships with local F&B media professionals to keep Station top of mind
- Ability to manage daily decision-making authority
- Knowledge of supervisory best practices and procedure
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Keeping a synergy with City Tours MKE and upselling City Tours MKE
- Create new ideas for internally generated events
- Collaborate with Meghan and the City Tours MKE Team to coordinate and execute all events
- Serve as the day of event coordinator
- Report any observed feedback from each event to owner
- Work with owner to create and process all event related invoices and orders
- Ability to work as a member of a team and collaborate with others outside the venue
- Ability to interpret and enforce venue policies and procedures.

- Availability to work nights and weekends.

Experience:
