Job Summary
The Plant Shop Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the shop, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining the health and presentation of all plants and merchandise. This role blends retail management, plant care expertise, and community engagement to support the continued growth of Planted Collective.

Key Responsibilities
Store Operations
Oversee day-to-day shop operations, including opening/closing procedures
Manage inventory, merchandising, and product displays
Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and visually aligned with the brand
Must be comfortable working directly with the owners who enjoy being hands on when they can!
Plant Care & Maintenance
Maintain the health and quality of all plants through proper watering, pruning, pest control, and repotting
Monitor environmental conditions (light, humidity, temperature)
Receive, inspect, and acclimate new plant shipments
Customer Experience
Deliver knowledgeable and friendly customer service
Provide plant care advice and recommendations tailored to customer needs
Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and returns professionally
Sales & Growth
Drive sales through product knowledge, upselling, and merchandising strategies
Track sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
Support marketing initiatives, promotions, and in-store events
Community Engagement
Help plan and host workshops, events, and community gatherings
Build relationships with local customers and partners
Represent the brand both in-store and through local outreach
Help gain house call appointments and plant care contracts
Inventory & Purchasing
Manage stock levels of plants, pots, soil, and retail items
Coordinate with owners and suggest items for purchase
Minimize waste and ensure quality control

Qualifications
1–2 years of retail experience (plant or lifestyle retail preferred)
Strong knowledge of houseplant care and common plant varieties
Passion for plants, sustainability, and community building
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Basic knowledge of POS systems and inventory management
