The Auto Mechanic responsibilities include performing engine removal and installation, servicing external engine components such as alternators, batteries, gaskets, timing components, distributors, spark plugs, etc., brake conversions and repair, rear end removal and installation, suspension conversions, shocks, steering components, electrical systems wiring and troubleshooting, carburetor and fuel system diagnosis and repair, and more. Standard safety regulations/practices must be observed, and you should be able provide a pleasant, efficient, and professional service to customers throughout this process.
To ensure success as an Auto Mechanic, you should be able to quickly diagnose vehicle issues and problems, easily operate all pertinent equipment, understand and follow safety procedures, and work quickly and efficiently to complete assigned jobs. An outstanding Auto Mechanic will have the ability to identify and recommend additional services that may be valuable to customers. ASE Certified is highly preferred. You must supply your own tools.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Performing diagnostic assessments to ensure that all issues are identified
- Wearing safety gear and conducting work in a safe manner
- Assisting with job estimates
- Restoring vehicles to their original condition, or better, by repairing, replacing, and upgrading exterior/interior/mechanical features
- Customizing vehicles according to customers' preferences, as requested
- Ensuring that each vehicle is safe and roadworthy upon completion of the job
- Other duties as assigned
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Proven experience as an Auto Mechanic
- Formal training as an Auto Mechanic
- Thorough knowledge of relevant safety guidelines
- ASE Certification (can be obtained while employed)
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Welding skills
- Electrical skills
- Autobody repair skills are a plus
- Exceptional manual dexterity
- Observant and meticulous
- Your own tools
