We are seeking a porter for one of our clients in Middletown, NY!
- 1st Shift – 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- 3rd Shift – 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintains awareness of proper safety precautions at all times
· Constantly observes conditions throughout the facility and immediately reports and/or initiates actions to prevent unsafe conditions.
· Assures the following areas remain neat and free of litter at all times (Daily)
o Baler room is free of all dust/debris
o Elevator and Platform
o Grounds in Front of Main Offices
o Empty all trash containers in the plant (3 x Daily)
o Keep compactor area clean
o Maintain Machine Centers cleanliness & remove dust/debris
o Ensure all dust collection units at each machine center is clean
o Ensure all conveyor lines are free of dust/debris
o Trailers and shipping dock free of dust/debris
· Operate shredder and shred up all unusable paper and corrugated scrap – ensuring all weights are captured. All waste should be weighed and documented on a waste form.
· Assists with “make-ready” duties when requested by the maintenance manager or senior management staff.
· Helps to clean and maintain any storage areas as needed
· Performs interior and exterior painting duties when requested.
· Clean all areas of the Baler Room all day long/Balers/Hogger/and Water Treatment Areas.
· Works with other personnel as needed to maintenance or clean any areas not mentioned above on an “as needed” basis.
· Manage shadow boards to insure all tools are there and in in their proper location
· Communicate with necessary supervision to avoid problems between shift changes.
· Report repairs needed on trailers, dock plates, and dock doors or any other area of the facility to your direct supervisor.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED with English, Reading, Writing, and Math skills at a minimum of 10th Grade level. Basic computer and analytical skills. Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee might be required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to the following: moving mechanical parts; heat or cold; wet or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires the use of hearing protection. Eye protection and steel tipped shoes are also required.
Pay: $21.80 per hour
