The Senior Accountant supports the financial operations of HMP Senior Solutions and Healthcare Management Partners by managing general ledger activity, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance functions. This role plays a key part in maintaining accounting accuracy, supporting audits, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. The Senior Accountant collaborates closely with the Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, and Chief Financial Officer to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across all managed entities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal adjustments for multiple entities.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Support financial audits and examinations, providing documentation and analysis as required.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and business transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal control policies, and organizational accounting standards.
- Collaborate with accounts payable and payroll teams to ensure proper expense classification and accruals.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing enhanced accounting practices.
- Provide support for special projects, acquisitions, and restructuring engagements as needed.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare, senior living, or professional services industries.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills required.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
