INJE Physical Therapy P.C. is seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Temporary Part-Time Medical Receptionist for our Fresh Meadows office.
This position is ideal for someone who has previous receptionist or medical office experience, as well as a responsible college student who is looking for short-term work experience in a healthcare setting.
The receptionist will be responsible for welcoming patients, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, preparing patient charts, organizing office documents, and helping with the daily opening and closing of the office.
Extensive medical billing or coding knowledge is not required. Training will be provided for our office procedures and electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Check patients in and help them complete necessary forms
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to basic patient questions
- Make outgoing calls to confirm appointments or follow up with patients
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
- Prepare and organize patient charts before appointments
- Enter and update basic patient information in the electronic medical record system
- Scan, copy, print, and upload documents
- Organize PDF files, Google Drive folders, and office documents
- Use basic Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for simple data entry
- Collect patient identification cards, insurance cards, and referral documents
- Help verify that patient documents are complete
- Maintain patient privacy and follow HIPAA confidentiality requirements
- Open the office and prepare the reception and treatment areas before patients arrive
- Turn on necessary office equipment and make sure the office is clean and organized
- Assist with basic office organization and supply preparation
- Help close the office at the end of the shift, including organizing the front desk and checking equipment
- Support the clinical team when the reception area is not busy
Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate in both English and Spanish
- Previous receptionist, front desk, customer service, or medical office experience is preferred
- College students seeking temporary or part-time work are welcome to apply
- Comfortable answering and making phone calls
- Able to communicate politely and professionally with patients
- Basic computer skills are required
- Must be comfortable using PDF files, Google Drive, Microsoft Excel, or Google Sheets
- Must know how to scan, copy, print, and organize documents
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Willing to learn new office systems and procedures
- Medical coding knowledge, including CPT or ICD codes, is not required
- Experience with an electronic medical record system is helpful but not required
- Training will be provided
