Position Summary
McLaughlin's RV & Marine is seeking a motivated technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair Yamaha outboard engines. Marine experience is preferred but not required. If you have a strong mechanical background in automotive, diesel, powersports, motorcycles, ATVs, or small engines, we will provide the training necessary to become a certified Yamaha Outboard Technician.
Most of your work will involve Yamaha 115 HP and 150 HP outboards installed on pontoons, along with routine maintenance, diagnostics, and rigging.
What You'll Do
- Perform scheduled maintenance on Yamaha outboard engines.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, fuel, and cooling system concerns.
- Complete annual services including oil changes, gear lube, water pumps, spark plugs, filters, and impellers.
- Use Yamaha diagnostic software to troubleshoot engine performance.
- Install and rig new outboard engines and accessories.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections on new boats.
- Test, inspect, and verify repairs before customer delivery.
- Maintain accurate repair orders and service documentation.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work closely with the service advisors and parts department to ensure timely repairs.
Qualifications
- Mechanical experience in one or more of the following:
- Automotive repair
- Small engine repair
- Marine service
- Powersports
- Motorcycle repair
- Diesel equipment
- Agricultural equipment
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds and work in a shop environment.
- Basic computer skills.
Marine experience is a plus but is not required.
Training Provided

Pay: $27.37 - $29.04 per hour
