Join our dynamic team as an Auto Parts Counter-person, where you'll be the vital link between our customers and the high-quality automotive parts they need. Whether serving wholesale or retail clients, you’ll leverage your automotive knowledge and sales expertise to provide exceptional service, assist with vehicle maintenance and repair needs, and manage inventory efficiently. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and identify their automotive parts needs through active listening and effective communication skills
- Assist customers in selecting the correct parts using electronic catalogs.
- Manage inventory control by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and ensuring accurate order fulfillment. Also handling returns and posting purchase orders.
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, handle cash and credit payments, and maintain cash handling procedures
- Provide technical advice on vehicle maintenance, automotive repair, and automotive service procedures to both retail and wholesale clients
- Negotiate prices and terms with customers to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Maintain organized records of sales, inventory levels, and customer interactions using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or similar software
- Support marketing efforts by promoting special offers or new products to enhance sales growth. Also doing field work in bringing new customes and advertising new product lines
- Ensure the dealership’s standards for phone etiquette, communication skills, and professional appearance are upheld at all times
Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and automotive repair processes
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining customer trust
- Proficiency in inventory management, stock control, retail math, and Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis
- Experience with POS systems, CMMS software, and inventory control tools to streamline operations
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with clear communication abilities in multiple languages or bilingual proficiency preferred
- Organizational skills to manage stock levels, order fulfillment, and maintain a tidy work environment
- Familiarity with experience with wholesale or retail sales environments enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Ability to handle cashiering duties including cash handling with accuracy and integrity
- Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to auto parts sales to attract new customers and retain existing ones
