Job Description:
Part-time, year-round position to provide clerical and support for the Truck Driving Academy and assist with daily operations, primarily related to Corporate Education located at the Crews Center location. Typical work schedule: Wednesday 9 am - 1 pm; Thursday and Friday 8 am -5 pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the first point of contact for all programs located within the Crews Center by answering phones, responding to inquiries, assisting walk-in students, and providing excellent customer service.

Maintains current knowledge of Truck Driving Academy requirements, course schedules, tuition rates, regulatory standards, and available funding options to provide accurate information to prospective and current students.

Explains enrollment procedures, program expectations, class timelines, and registration requirements to prospective and current Truck Driving Academy students.

Guides students in exploring funding opportunities, completing required documentation, and connecting with appropriate college and community resources to support enrollment.

Supports student intake, onboarding, and ongoing student communication for the Truck Driving Academy and related skilled trades programs.

Collects, verifies, and maintains required student documentation, including driver's licenses, permits, medical cards, drug screenings, and other compliance-related documents.

Assists with registration, enrollment, student records management, and data entry using college systems and databases.

Maintains prospective student, inquiry, and waitlist records to support recruitment and enrollment for the Truck Driving Academy.

Monitors class enrollment activity and reports enrollment trends, student concerns, and operational needs to the Coordinator, Truck Driving Academy.

Assists with scheduling student orientations, testing appointments, and training activities.

Prepares and maintains electronic and paper files, reports, correspondence, and general student records related to daily Truck Driving Academy operations, customer service, and office administration.

Assists with employer communications, student job placement activities, and tracking employment outcomes for program graduates.

Supports marketing and outreach activities for the Truck Driving Academy, including community events, employer engagement, and promotional initiatives.

Provides administrative and operational support to the Coordinator of the Truck Driving Academy and instructional staff to ensure efficient day-to-day program operations.

Maintains training records, attendance logs, testing documentation, and regulatory compliance files to support CDL requirements and state and federal reporting standards.

Coordinates classroom and training site logistics, including preparation of instructional materials, testing support, and special event setup.

Participates in professional development activities to enhance job knowledge and maintain awareness of CDL industry requirements.

Performs duties in accordance with college policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable CDL regulations.

Works under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Truck Driving Academy to support program goals, student success, and operational effectiveness.

Contributes to unit planning, assessment, and college institutional effectiveness efforts.

Acts in accordance with local, state, and federal laws/regulations as well as College policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Educational: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
Experiential: Minimum of two (2) years of secretarial/clerical or related experience required. (An A.S. degree in Office Administration or similar related area may substitute for up to one year of the experience requirement.)
Other: Proficient typing skills and advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, employers, and community partners. Excellent time-management skills.
