he Hampton Inn & Suites Kansas City Country Club Plaza is accepting applications for a Part Time Maintenance/Property Care Technician position. This part time position would work Mondays and Tuesdays 8am-430pm This can also include some Sunday shifts.
This position reports to the Chief Engineer but will work closely with the Housekeeping and Front Desk department for project coordination.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building interior systems including plumbing, electrical equipment, HVAC units, and mechanical components.
- Conduct troubleshooting using schematics, electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues accurately.
- Maintain facilities equipment by repairing or replacing hand tools, electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, HVAC systems, and building interior elements.
- Carry out maintenance painting, carpentry, and general building interior upkeep to uphold property aesthetics and safety standards.
- Assist with plumbing system maintenance and repair, ensuring all plumbing fixtures and pipes operate without leaks or blockages.
- Support maintenance operations by following safety protocols, documenting work performed, and communicating with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Care and upkeep of assigned areas of the property
- Carpet cleaning and carpet tile replacement as needed
- Furniture care and cleaning
- Power washing of garage, exterior walks & drives
- All season exterior grounds care including some landscaping, snow removal, weather preparation
- Detail cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, etc. throughout property
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Experience
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance or property care is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate eager to learn.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems repair, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and mechanical systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical diagrams such as schematics and understand electrical work principles is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with experience in facilities equipment maintenance will help you succeed in this role.
- Excellent communication skills in English are essential for clear documentation and resident interactions.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
