Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated Physical Education (P.E.) Teacher to join our educational team. This position plays a vital role in promoting students' physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will create engaging physical education lessons that encourage participation, build confidence, and support students' physical, social, and emotional development in a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Teach a variety of individual and team sports, fitness activities, and movement skills appropriate for students' age and ability levels.
- Promote healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
- Supervise students during indoor and outdoor physical activities while ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Assess student performance and maintain accurate records of progress and participation.
- Adapt activities and instruction to accommodate students with varying abilities and special needs.
- Enforce school policies and safety procedures during all physical education activities.
- Organize and maintain gymnasium equipment and athletic supplies.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
- Assist with school athletic events, wellness initiatives, field days, or extracurricular activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Physical Education.
- Experience teaching physical education in an elementary, middle, or high school setting preferred.
- Knowledge of physical education curriculum, health education principles, and age-appropriate instructional strategies.
- Ability to motivate students while fostering teamwork, respect, and lifelong healthy habits.
- Strong classroom management and student behavior management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to safely demonstrate physical activities and lift or move athletic equipment as needed.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instruction for students with different learning and physical abilities is highly desirable.
