Role Overview
The Clinical Site Supervisor leads a team of three to six licensed and pre-licensure mental health clinicians, and reports to the Clinical Director. This hybrid role combines direct clinical work with supervisory responsibilities and some administrative duties. The ideal candidate is a seasoned clinician who leads with both clinical excellence and genuine investment in the growth of their team.
This is a full-time position based in the Torrington office. Exact schedule and caseload expectations will be discussed during the hiring process.
Responsibilities - Supervisory
- Provide regular individual supervision and support to a team of three to six licensed and pre-licensure clinicians
- Conduct performance reviews and deliver candid, compassionate feedback that supports professional growth
- Onboard and train new clinicians on intake processes, treatment plan and progress note documentation, case management, and EHR (TheraNest) workflows
- Communicate organizational changes and clinical standards clearly and efficiently to the team
- Notify the Clinical Director promptly of any employee performance, environmental, or safety concerns
- Participate in weekly individual and group supervision
- Model culturally competent behavior in all interactions with clients, providers, and fellow staff
- Foster a positive team culture grounded in integrity, respect, and commitment to high-quality care
Clinical
- Maintain a client caseload appropriate to supervisory responsibilities (specific benchmarks discussed during onboarding)
- Build and sustain strong therapeutic relationships with clients while maintaining professional ethics and boundaries
- Develop, implement, and monitor person-centered treatment plans
- Meet regularly with clients to review progress, stability, and upcoming appointments; facilitate appropriate discharge planning
- Perform two to four intake assessments monthly and match clients to the provider in our network best suited to their needs, prioritizing client-clinician fit above all else
- Meet internal audit standards including up-to-date progress notes, treatment plans, and referral timelines
Administrative
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director to ensure clinical activities align with agency standards
- Allocate time between supervision and clinical duties in accordance with role expectations
- Support management in identifying and implementing the most effective treatment approaches
Skills & Competencies
- Deep knowledge of current clinical strategies, evidence-based practices, and emerging trends in outpatient mental health
- Familiarity with insurance requirements and documentation necessary to accurately capture clinical work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including timely, clear written follow-through with teammates
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation workflows across a small team
- Well-developed leadership skills with a collaborative approach
- Sound clinical judgment and effective problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and openness to change; ability to adapt productively as the organization grows
- A genuine growth mindset — comfortable both receiving and delivering honest, measurable feedback with compassion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other clinical systems
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in a related field
- Active Connecticut DPH licensure: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Ph.D.
- Five or more years of experience providing therapeutic services in an outpatient setting
- Two or more years of experience providing clinical supervision preferred, but not required
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
