Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. This is a Group Family Daycare in my home. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our daycare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This position involves working closely with children of various ages, including infants and toddlers, to promote their development and well-being through engaging activities and attentive care.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the supervision of children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development and learning.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by providing individualized care and attention.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and play.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with lead teachers to develop lesson plans and classroom management strategies.
- Provide care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed.
- Engage in behavior management techniques to foster positive interactions among children.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to early childhood education.
Skills
- First aid certification is preferred for ensuring child safety.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- Background in preschool education or early childhood development is essential.
- Previous experience in childcare settings such as daycare, nannying, or babysitting is beneficial.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Ability to engage effectively with children through teaching methods that cater to their developmental stages.
- Knowledge of toddler care practices and infant care techniques is important for this role.
