As a Security Officer, you will be the frontline guardian, ensuring compliance with security protocols while providing excellent customer service to visitors and staff alike. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of premises using CCTV surveillance systems and physical patrols to monitor for suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Control access points utilizing advanced access control systems, verifying identities, and maintaining detailed logs of visitors, contractors, and staff.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, executing emergency response procedures such as first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols.
- Write comprehensive incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or suspicious activities with clarity and accuracy.
- Perform background checks on new employees or vendors as part of the onboarding process to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Manage conflict de-escalation techniques effectively when dealing with unruly individuals or disputes to maintain a peaceful environment.
- Operate security equipment including CCTV cameras, Taser devices, firearms (where authorized), and other security tools while adhering strictly to safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields demonstrating strong physical security skills.
- Knowledge of surveillance systems such as CCTV and access control systems; familiarity with loss prevention strategies is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and physical patrolling for extended periods.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, fire safety, and Taser use are required; additional training in conflict management and emergency response procedures is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write detailed incident reports clearly and accurately.
- Strong understanding of security regulations and compliance standards relevant to the role.
- Demonstrated customer service skills to interact professionally with visitors and staff while maintaining a secure environment.
