Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums.
- Handle chemical agents safely for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, following all safety protocols and handling instructions.
- Conduct manual handling tasks including lifting heavy objects, moving supplies, and cleaning equipment with safe lifting practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, and fixtures to uphold a professional appearance throughout the facility.
- Assist with industrial cleaning tasks and custodial duties in both commercial and residential settings as needed.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or hazards identified during cleaning routines.
- Use proper techniques for buffing, floor care, and other specialized cleaning procedures to extend the lifespan of flooring surfaces.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning tools such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and other custodial equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling and safety procedures related to cleaning products.
- Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling in a safe manner is essential.
- Background in facilities maintenance or porter roles will be considered an asset.
- Ability to perform routine cleaning tasks efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail combined with a proactive attitude toward maintaining a clean and safe environment.
