Overview
Join our café team as a Lead Barista and play a key role in running daily operations and creating a consistent, high-quality coffee experience. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will help guide service during shifts, support another barista on duty, and ensure drinks are made to standard every time.
We are looking for someone experienced, reliable, and confident in both espresso preparation and shift management. This is a fixed weekly schedule position in a small, fast-moving café where teamwork and initiative matter.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and run daily café operations during assigned shifts
- Lead service alongside another barista and maintain smooth workflow
- Open and close the café, including setup and end-of-day cleaning
- Notice when inventory is low with items
- Dial in espresso and adjust grind/settings as needed to maintain quality
- Prepare espresso drinks, matcha, and other café beverages consistently
- Batch prep items such as cold foam and other drink components
- Operate the register using Square Point of Sale
- Provide excellent customer service and handle customer concerns professionally
- Take initiative during slower periods (restocking, cleaning, prep work)
- Maintain cleanliness and follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient service flow
Schedule
This is a fixed weekly schedule role:
Monday & Tuesday
7:45 AM – 4:45 PM (lead shift, opening through closing)
Wednesday – Friday
Off
Saturday & Sunday
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (busy rush support alongside owners)
Schedule may be adjusted in the future with clear communication as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- Proven barista experience in a café or coffee shop setting
- Strong experience dialing in espresso independently
- Ability to work confidently without supervision
- Strong understanding of café workflow and customer service
- Comfortable working alongside another barista and taking initiative
- Ability to learn recipes quickly and execute consistently
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling
- Strong communication skills and professional attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to handle a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
