American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with robotics, vascular, and thoracic experience for a hospital surgical services position at a Level I/II trauma center.

Hospital surgical services department supporting multiple specialties including orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, and robotics
-
Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
-
1:1 patient ratio
-
No guaranteed block scheduling
-
On-call requirement of 2-3 calls within a 6-week matrix with a 30-minute call back response time
-
3-4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week matrix, which may fall on day, evening, or night shift
-
Holiday coverage required as needed, which may fall on day, evening, or night shift
-
May float to sterile processing as needed
-
May care for COVID-positive patients
-
Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
-
Minimum of 2 years of CST experience required, out of orientation
-
Multi-specialty experience required, specifically in orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, and robotics
-
NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required; NCCT certification not accepted
-
BLS certification required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Level I Trauma experience preferred; Level II Trauma experience required

Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

First-time travelers will not be accepted

License required if applicable

Perform surgical technologist duties across a wide range of specialties including vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, urology, and robotics
-
Support robotic surgeries using systems such as the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
-
Assist with trauma cases including amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and multi-injury MVAs
-
Maintain aseptic technique, sterilization/disinfection standards, and adherence to Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
-
Handle instrument processing, specimen handling/labeling, and case cart preparation
-
Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols, including radiation and laser safety practices
-
Maximum RTO of 7 days permitted per contract
