Inaru is a brand new dispensary coming to Boulder, CO! We are looking for an experienced part-time Budtender to join our team.
Job Title: Part-time Guest Guide, aka Part-time Budtender
Location: Unincorporated Boulder County
Reports to: General Manager
Pay: $17.50/Hour + Tips
Schedule: 24 hours/week. Opening shifts: 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM; Closing shifts: 1:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Who We Are
Inaru is a warm ritual boutique and dispensary rooted in Taino heritage and the divine feminine. Born from a simple truth - that traditional cannabis retail rarely reflects the experience, heritage, or values of women and underserved communities - Inaru was created to fill that gap. We are a welcoming, education-first, intentional space where plant medicine is treated with reverence and every guest feels seen, supported, and empowered. We are not a transactional dispensary. We are a community.
Role Summary
At Inaru, we don't have sales people. We have guides. As a Budtender and Guest Guide, you are the most direct expression of our brand that a guest will experience. Your role is to listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help each person find what genuinely serves them - not to move product or hit a transaction count. You will be educated, warm, unhurried, and fully present with every guest who walks through our door.
This is a compliance-driven environment and operational precision matters. But it is your human presence, your curiosity about people, and your genuine care for their experience that will make Inaru what it is meant to be.
Guest Experience
- Welcome every guest with warmth and genuine attention from the moment they enter
- Ask thoughtful, open-ended questions to understand each guest's intention, comfort level, and experience with cannabis before making any recommendation
- Provide personalized, education-first guidance on products, strains, consumption methods, dosing, and ritual practices - tailored to the individual, never scripted
- Honor the pace of each guest interaction; this is not a high-volume, move-them-through operation
- Maintain Inaru's brand voice in every conversation: reverent, grounded, warm, non-judgmental, and never sales-pressured
- Recognize when a guest needs more time, space, or a different kind of support and respond with care
- Collect and share guest feedback with the Dispensary Manager to support continuous improvement of the experience
Compliance & Operations
- Verify valid government-issued ID for every guest before any transaction, without exception
- Process transactions accurately through the POS system; follow all cash handling procedures consistently
- Keep a clean, organized, and visually aligned working environment with Inaru's boutique aesthetic in mind at all times
- Follow all Colorado MED compliance and security procedures; flag any concerns to leadership immediately
- Maintain a current Colorado MED badge at all times; renewals are the employee's responsibility with advance notice provided by management
- Support opening and closing procedures as scheduled
Team & Culture
- Show up for your scheduled shifts on time and prepared; your presence on the floor directly impacts every guest's experience that day
- Actively participate in ongoing brand training, product education, and coaching sessions
- Support your fellow team members and communicate proactively about anything that affects the floor
- Embody Inaru's values - reverence, education, warmth, inclusivity, and genuine care - not just with guests but with each other
What You Bring
- Previous retail cannabis industry experience
- Genuine interest in cannabis as plant medicine - you don't need to be an expert, but you need to be curious and committed to ongoing education
- Strong interpersonal skills; you are a natural listener who makes people feel at ease
- Emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity; you can read a room and meet people where they are
- Attention to detail and reliability in compliance-driven tasks - you understand that accuracy is non-negotiable
- Comfort working in a values-driven, female-led organization with a collaborative team structure
- Must be 21+ and able to obtain a valid Colorado MED badge prior to first day
This Role is Not Right For You If
- You are primarily motivated by sales volume or transaction speed
- You view compliance steps as interruptions to the guest experience rather than part of it
- You are not genuinely curious about the people you serve
- You see cannabis as just a product rather than something deserving of education and intention
This Role Is Right For You If
- You believe slowing down to truly serve someone is always worth it
- You have a gift for making people feel welcome, especially in spaces that might feel unfamiliar or intimidating
- You are energized by learning and sharing knowledge, not just completing transactions
- You want to be part of building something that actually means something in this industry
- You lead with empathy, show up with consistency, and take pride in doing the small things right
