Cannabis Distribution Compliance, METRC & Accounting Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Compliance, METRC, and Accounting Specialist to join our rapidly growing California cannabis distribution team in Long Beach. This role is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, managing inventory in METRC, supporting accounting operations, and ensuring accurate documentation across all distribution activities.
The ideal candidate has previous experience in California cannabis distribution and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, organization, and accountability are essential.
ResponsibilitiesCompliance
- Ensure compliance with all California Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) regulations.
- Maintain required compliance records and documentation.
- Prepare for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement new compliance procedures.
- Review packaging and labeling for DCC compliance.
- Assist with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and compliance documentation.
METRC
- Manage daily METRC inventory transactions.
- Create and receive manifests.
- Process transfers and deliveries.
- Track inventory adjustments and reconciliations.
- Maintain package creation, conversions, and chain of custody.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Perform routine inventory audits and physical counts.
Accounting & Administrative
- Process vendor invoices and purchase orders.
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Reconcile inventory against accounting records.
- Maintain organized financial and compliance documentation.
- Generate operational and financial reports.
- Support month-end inventory reconciliation.
- Work closely with management on inventory costing and operational reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of California cannabis industry experience (Distribution preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on METRC experience.
- Strong understanding of California DCC regulations.
- Experience with inventory management and reconciliation.
- Accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Professional communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Cannabis Distribution License operations.
- Manifest creation and transportation compliance.
- Cannabis testing and Certificate of Analysis (COA) workflow.
- Cannabis packaging and labeling compliance.
- ERP or inventory management systems.
