Great Northern – Chippewa Falls is seeking Machine Operators or Assistants to join our growing manufacturing team! Are you ready to make a difference?
Our Machine Operators and Assistants' Schedules:
- 1st Shift: Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 3:00pm and Friday 5:45am to 1:45pm
- 2nd Shift: Monday through Thursday, 2:45pm to 11:15pm and Friday, 1:30pm to 7:30pm
- Hourly wage ranges between $22.75 to $$28.25
Our Machine Assistants are Responsible For:
- Operates bander and main line conveyors efficiently.
- Stretch wraps common carrier and other units as called for on load tags.
- Scan load tags of all units going through the bander.
- Sort and store appropriate scrap sheets for tops and bottoms.
- Aid machine crews with finding the proper size bottoms / tie-ins.
- Monitors unit quality for proper bottoms, load tags, and unit stability.
- Contacts machine crew, supervisors, if machine units aren’t built correctly.
- Operates and monitors operation of the stretch wrapping machine.
- Informs supervisor of any unitizing material shortages.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- High school diploma or equivalency
- One year of manufacturing / machine related experience preferred
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, decimals and percentages
- Ability to follow verbal, written or diagrammatic instructions
- Ability to solve problems and make adjustments regarding equipment, processes, procedures and product conformity to meet specifications and quality standards
- Ability to identify and distinguish color
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines
