Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including erosion control measures and site cleanup
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of tasks
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and equipment safely and efficiently for tasks such as framing, digging, or material handling
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of materials, supplies, and equipment in accordance with safety standards
- Support erosion control efforts by installing barriers, silt fences, or other protective measures
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance teams for specialized repairs
- Follow all workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards, respiratory protection protocols, and climbing safety procedures
- Assist with implementing safety regulations on-site to maintain a hazard-free environment for all team members
Qualifications
- Prior experience in industrial or general construction environments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Ability to read construction plans and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and repair is a plus
- Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, climbing, and working at heights
- Familiarity with power tools, heavy machinery, and equipment repair processes
- Strong commitment to workplace safety practices and adherence to safety regulations at all times
