Your responsibilities will include assisting patients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and supporting the nursing staff in delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Help patients with mobility and transfers to ensure their safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and common areas.
- Support nursing staff with medical procedures as needed.
- Document patient care activities accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during challenging times.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills related to emergency medicine and trauma care.
Skills
- Experience in inpatient settings or long-term care facilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of hospice care principles is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Ability to work effectively within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center environment.
- Experience in teaching hospitals is advantageous for skill development.
- Proficiency in using Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for patient assistance.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
