Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, processing sales transactions efficiently.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, including wine and spirits knowledge, to upsell items and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Serve food, beverages, cocktails, and spirits with professionalism, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to food safety standards.
- Manage multiple tables simultaneously by prioritizing tasks effectively through excellent time management skills.
- Clear tables promptly and assist with bussing to maintain cleanliness and readiness for new guests.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while processing payments through POS systems like OpenTable or other restaurant software.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Engage with guests to foster positive relations, address inquiries or concerns promptly, and promote guest loyalty through exceptional service.
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred, especially within fine dining settings.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms is essential for efficient order processing.
- Proven ability in upselling beverages like wine, cocktails, and spirits to enhance sales revenue.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience in guest relations roles such as host/hostess or cashiering will be advantageous for delivering top-tier customer service.
- Demonstrated skills in time management and multitasking during busy service hours are crucial for success in this role.
- Knowledge of beverage service including wine knowledge and cocktail preparation enhances the overall guest experience.
