Overview
At Stellar Virtual, the Grade 10 Level Supervisor ensures high school student success and program effectiveness. This role oversees instructional staff supporting course completion, engagement, content proficiency, legal compliance, and state accountability (including graduation/college readiness). Responsibilities include managing escalations and implementing our "education with destination" model. The Supervisor also coordinates projects, communication, and support for grade 10, fostering teacher collaboration, managing high school data, and facilitating relevant professional development.
Essential Duties
- Lead communication project management, including the strategic development and implementation of communication plans and standardized templates to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
- Direct the delegation and monitoring of project tasks within project management tools (e.g., Asana), ensuring accountability and timely completion of deliverables.
- Collaborate with teachers to streamline and align grade-level projects, fostering curricular coherence and consistent student experiences across all classrooms.
- Partner with teachers to identify and strategically integrate existing initiatives, promoting a unified and cohesive educational approach within the grade level.
- Provide proactive support and guidance for at-risk projects, ensuring the timely allocation of necessary resources and implementation of effective interventions to mitigate challenges.
- Oversee attendance and engagement within the designated support space (e.g., SAS room), ensuring accurate data collection and promoting active student participation.
- Manage the student withdrawal process, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and strict adherence to all relevant policies and procedures for a seamless transition.
- Direct the outreach, coordination, and administration of M CLASS testing, guaranteeing timely and accurate assessments to inform instructional practices.
- Analyze M CLASS testing data to identify trends and areas for improvement, developing and implementing data-driven strategies to enhance overall student learning outcomes.
- Coordinate and recommend relevant summer professional development opportunities for teachers, aligning training with grade-level needs and instructional priorities.
- Evaluate and recommend the acquisition of high-quality educational programs and resources, ensuring alignment with curriculum goals and effective instructional practices to maximize student learning.
- You will play a key role in our collective success by proactively pivoting to support emerging business needs and strategic priorities directed by your manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Minimum of 5 years virtual teaching experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role (virtual or traditional).
- Proven leadership in academics, successfully managing and supporting teachers.
- Deep understanding of K-5 curriculum, instruction, and assessment in virtual settings.
- Committed to continuous learning in education and pedagogy.
- Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity.
- Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
- Residency in the state of Texas is required.
Education & Certification Requirements
- A bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field is required.
- A master’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred but not required.
- A valid State Teaching Certification without restrictions.
- Successful completion of Reading Academy.
