RN Nurse Manager

Reports To: VP Medical Affairs
Position Summary
The RN Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing nursing practice, medication management, and clinical compliance across designated sites within Argus Community Inc.’s continuum of care, including OASAS, Article 31, residential, and outpatient services.
This role serves as the primary operational extension of the Medical Affairs Department, ensuring that clinical protocols, medication safety standards, and regulatory requirements are consistently implemented at the site level.
The Nurse Manager will play a critical role in standardizing care, reducing risk, and transitioning from consultant reliance to internal clinical oversight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Medication Management & Safety Oversight

Oversee medication administration practices across all assigned sites

Ensure compliance with:

OASAS
-
OMH / Article 31
-
DEA / controlled substances regulations
-
Monitor:
-
Medication storage
-
Inventory control
-
Documentation accuracy
-
Supervise site-level Medication Officers/coordinators
-
Undertake the OASAS Train the Trainer Med Administration course

Supervise others accordingly
2. Nursing Supervision & Clinical Support

Provide supervision and guidance to:
-
Nursing staff
-
Medical assistants
-
Support Nurse Practitioners in coordination with the CMO/Senior VP
-
Address clinical issues and escalation from sites
3. Clinical Protocol Implementation
-
Ensure implementation of standardized protocols across:
-
Medical & Health Assessments
-
Psychiatric Assessments (in coordination with providers)
-
Medication Management
-
MAT / Inductions (buprenorphine, etc.)
-
Monitor adherence and address deviations
4. Compliance & Audit Functions
-
Conduct routine site audits focused on:
-
Medication practices
-
Clinical documentation
-
Regulatory readiness
-
Identify risks and implement corrective actions
-
Support external audits and inspections
5. Case Conferences & Peer Review
-
Participate in and help coordinate:
-
Case conferences across sites
-
Peer review processes
-
Escalate clinical concerns to CMO/Senior VP
6. Training & Staff Development
-
Train staff on:
-
Medication protocols
-
Clinical SOPs
-
Compliance expectations
-
Support onboarding of new clinical staff
7. Reporting & Accountability

Maintain clear reporting to the CMO/Senior VP on:

Risks
-
Incidents
-
Compliance gaps
-
Ensure site-level accountability structures are functioning
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
-
Registered Nurse (RN) – New York State license (required)
-
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s preferred
Experience
-
5–7+ years of nursing experience
-
Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or similar settings strongly preferred
-
Experience with OASAS and/or Article 31 programs highly desirable
-
Experience in supervisory or leadership roles
Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of medication management and safety protocols

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (OASAS, OMH, Medicaid)
