Summary
The Director of Finance is a key leadership role within QALO’s finance organization, reporting directly to the President/CFO and partnering closely with teams across D2C e-commerce, retail, and consumer products. This individual will own financial planning and analysis, business modeling, and reporting – providing the analytical foundation to support QALO’s growth across direct-to-consumer channels, omnichannel retail, and new product line expansion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Provides financial guidance, analysis, and reporting to support recommendations that lead to informed and effective business decisions
- Assists leadership in the annual strategic planning process, identifying new opportunities across D2C, retail, and omnichannel partnerships
- Owns and manages all activities related to the annual budgeting process
- Manages all activities related to quarterly and rolling forecasting
- Delivers monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis with commentary on performance drivers
- Reviews and updates forecasts based on actual results, channel performance, and evolving business strategy
- Prepares Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) and board-level financial presentations
- Tracks and analyzes key D2C and retail metrics including AOV, LTV, CAC, MER, sell through rates, and channel contribution margins
- Builds and maintains financial models supporting new product line launches and retail channel expansion decisions
- Partners with marketing to evaluate spend efficiency and return on investment across paid and owned channels
- Supports inventory planning and demand forecasting in partnership with operations and merchandising
- Compiles competitive and industry data for trend detection, benchmarking, and strategy development
- Serves as the Finance lead in evaluating omnichannel partnership opportunities and new wholesale/retail account expansions
- Partners with the Controller / TGG team (outsourced finance function) to ensure alignment between financial planning and accounting operations
- Builds strong cross-functional relationships with Marketing, Operations, and Commercial teams
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum of five to eight years of Financial Planning & Analysis experience, ideally within a D2C e-commerce or consumer products company
- Demonstrated experience with omnichannel retail, direct-to-consumer sales channels, and inventory-driven businesses
- Prior exposure to consumer brand environments with ecommerce, wholesale, Amazon, or specialty retail distribution a plus
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Director of Finance is an individual contributor role with the potential to build and expand a small team in line with company growth and organizational needs.
Qualifications
- Strong command of D2C and retail financial drivers including contribution margin, customer economics, and channel profitability
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills including experience modeling new product launches, retail channel ramps, and marketing investment scenarios. Solid understanding of inventory, COGS, and gross margin dynamics in a product-based business
- Demonstrable knowledge of financial accounting and GAAP reporting fundamentals. Experience operating within a PE-backed environment, including investor and lender reporting, covenant compliance, and supporting financial due diligence.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with e-commerce analytics platforms (Shopify, Amazon analytics, or similar) preferred
- Experience with ERP or financial planning software (e.g., NetSuite) preferred

Pay: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
