Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy, numeracy, social-emotional skills, and physical development, including Montessori and other educational philosophies.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Plan engaging lesson plans that incorporate child development principles, standardized testing where applicable, and innovative teaching methods such as hands-on activities and interactive learning.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress through observations, documentation, and assessments aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's development, milestones, and any behavioral or learning concerns.
- Ensure classroom safety by adhering to health guidelines, maintaining cleanliness, and practicing first aid and CPR when necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support inclusive education practices, including special education needs and early intervention strategies for diverse learners.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of child development instruction, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing training in childhood welfare is preferred.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, physical education activities, and standardized testing procedures.
- Experience working with toddlers or in Montessori or similar early childhood educational environments is a plus.
- Ability to adhere to mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for early childhood education with a commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
