Enrollment Team Lead (Remote — Sales Manager, Player-Coach)
The Uncommon Business
Remote · Full-time (W2)
Pay: $95,000 – $120,000 per year (base, based on experience) + quota-based bonus
Job Type: Full-time
Shift and Schedule: Monday to Friday. Extended hours during launch seasons (see Schedule below).
About the Role
The Uncommon Business is hiring a full-time, remote Enrollment Team Lead to own the daily performance, coaching, and results of an 8-person enrollment sales sub-team. As our Enrollment team grows, this role separates daily people management from function strategy, giving one leader full ownership of a pod's numbers, standard, and development.
This is a player-coach role. You will lead and coach a team while also carrying a personal book of the largest, highest-complexity deals that newer reps cannot yet close on their own. It is built for someone who has already led a sales team, not just performed as an individual closer, and who can hold a high selling standard without relying on high-pressure tactics.
Reports to: Reports to Sr. Manager of Sales and Enrollment
Responsibilities
- Own the daily execution, cadence, and monthly results of an 8-person enrollment sub-team, translating strategy into the numbers your pod delivers.
- Run training and role-play sessions that keep sales methodology sharp and consistent as the team scales.
- Carry a personal book of your team's largest and highest-objection deals, closing revenue that requires senior-level skill.
- Manage performance directly and supportively, owning coaching plans, performance conversations, and people decisions for your team.
- Step into abandoned-cart recovery and frontline support during launch surges so your team maintains volume during peak periods.
- Maintain call quality and method fidelity across your team through live-call and role-play audits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading a sales team or serving as a team lead, with a track record of a team hitting or exceeding its target under your leadership.
- Strong individual closing ability across phone and SMS, including complex, high-objection deals.
- Ability to coach a consistent selling standard into others without relying on high-pressure sales tactics.
- Direct, supportive approach to performance management and difficult feedback conversations.
- Experience owning coaching plans, ramp, and people decisions for a sales team.
- AI and technology fluency, with a willingness to learn a new sales methodology from the ground up.
What Success Looks Like
- Pod Target Attainment: Hit 100% or more of your sub-team's monthly enrollment target, measured monthly starting 90 days post-ramp.
- Method Fidelity: Maintain call quality scores at or above the team standard on role-play and live-call audits.
- Ramp and Coaching Impact: New reps under your management reach full productivity within their first 60 days.
- Personal Book Contribution: Personally close a set revenue quota per launch cycle from your book of larger, higher-objection deals.
- Team Retention: Hold voluntary attrition on your team at or below the company benchmark through at least one full launch cycle.
Schedule Expectations
Our launch seasons are high-intensity and fast-paced. Twice per year (10–12 weeks total), team members in launch-critical roles are expected to be available from 7 AM to 7 PM, with additional hours often required for preparation, live event support, and post-launch debriefs.
Outside of launch seasons, the workload is sustainable and strategic, focused on building the systems that strengthen the next launch. This pace suits candidates who thrive in high-accountability, high-impact environments.
