Turri's Italian Foods is looking for a motivated shipping & receiving worker to handle packaging and shipping in our Harrison Twp., MI warehouse. Our Shipping & Receiving position requires ability to work independently, be detail orientated, dependable and have experience in verifying and keeping records on shipments.
Shipping and Receiving hours/responsibilities:
- 1st Shift-8:30a-5p
- Operate Hi-lo/Rider Pallet Jack to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Operate handheld device for scanning loads and transfer of product between plants.
- Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures.
- Communicate effectively with department, plant and company personnel to ensure smooth operation of the process.
- Document temperatures of incoming goods. Also, monitor temperature of refrigerator and freezer.
- Know how to store and stack product in the freezers and racking systems.
- Know how to pull product (raw or frozen) by FIFO.
- Responsible for packaging and sending out product samples.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Experience with Microsoft applications/scanning systems/invoicing.
- Experience processing electronic records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
